Planning Board Agenda for Thursday June 23, 2011

The meeting will begin at 5:30 at the Monterey Town Hall. The change in meeting time has been posted with the Town Clerk.  The Planning Board will not have a quorum for this meeting.

The primary purpose of the meeting is to begin work on overhauling the Monterey Zoning Bylaws. Funds for the overhaul were approved at the Annual Town Meeting 2011. We are welcoming Mark Bobrowski, a lawyer specializing in Land Use Planning, who will guide the process and provide the necessary technical expertise.

  • Introductions and welcome to Mark Bobrowski
  • A professor  as well as a lawyer, Mark Bobrowski teaches Administrative Law, Land Use, Local Government, and Property. He is the author of the Handbook of Massachusetts Land Use and Planning Law (2d edition 2002, supplemented annually). He has written extensively on issues affecting municipal government. A member of the New England faculty since 1986, he has worked with communities across the region on community growth control, economic development, and resource protection. He is a member of a Massachusetts task force examining affordable housing law.
  • Turn the meeting over to Mark Bobrowski. Copies of the files that Bobrowski emailed have been distributed via email to participants and hard copy will be available.
  • After the zoning bylaw overhaul portion of the meeting we will begin the business of our regular meeting.
  • Read minutes from 6-16-11; amend and/or approve.
  • Any remaining details for the Bach/Greenway extension letter--no votes will be taken, administrative work only.
